Australia’s Fastest-Rising Brands

Beyond the top performers, YouGov also identified the brands that have made the most significant strides over the past year. Amazon emerged as the biggest improver, with an impressive jump of +5.4 in its Index score. The surge can be attributed to its expanding retail dominance and the growing success of Amazon Prime.

Following closely, WhatsApp (+5.2) and Amazon Prime (+4.1) also saw significant gains, reflecting a broader trend towards digital and streaming services. Other notable risers include Guinness (+4.0), TikTok (+4.0), Qatar Airways (+3.9), Aldi (+3.3), Booking.com (+3.2), Instagram (+3.2), and American Express (+3.1).

On a global scale, YouGov’s 2025 rankings crowned Samsung as the world’s best brand with an Index score of 43.0, reinforcing the dominance of technology brands in consumer preference. YouTube and WhatsApp tied for second place with scores of 41.6, followed by Google (40.0) and adidas (35.4). Other top-performing global brands included Nike, Colgate, Netflix, Toyota, and IKEA.

What Makes a Brand Stand Out?

YouGov’s methodology provides key insights into what drives brand success. The six components—impression, quality, value, satisfaction, reputation, and recommendation—highlight the importance of delivering a consistent, high-quality experience that fosters customer trust and advocacy.

The inclusion of brands from diverse sectors in Australia’s rankings underscores the evolving nature of consumer sentiment. From Bunnings’ dominance in retail to Toyota’s reliability and Google’s innovation, Australians gravitate towards brands that align with their values and deliver tangible benefits.

Looking Ahead

As competition intensifies, brands must continue adapting to consumer expectations to maintain strong brand health. The rise of Amazon and digital-first brands signals a shift in consumer behaviour, with convenience, personalisation, and brand integrity playing an increasingly critical role.

Bunnings’ top ranking in Australia reflects the power of a trusted, customer-first approach. As brands strive for relevance in 2025 and beyond, those that prioritise consistency, innovation, and consumer engagement will continue to thrive in the ever-evolving marketplace.
